My favorite 09/28/2009

The concert by the Philippines Madrigal Singers at St. Ignatius Church in New York was by far one of the most touching concerts I have ever watched.

After only the first segment, Sestina Madrigali by Claudio Monteverdi, I was already in tears.  Then came John Cameron's arrangement of Lux Aeterna from Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations.

I remember experiencing this feeling only one other time in my life, when I watched the Vesna Children's Choir in Tolosa Spain 2006.  It even made me worry that they might win over the Mads in Arezzo 2007.

So far, these are the two choirs that have strongly affected me with their moving performances.

The following song was written by Cecile Azarcon and arranged by Chris Borela and was one of my favorites during the Mads concert in NYC.
